Sister Jane Mfune put to rest

On Sunday, 28 June, 2015, thousands of mourners, gathered at the New Apostolic Church, Lusaka Central Congregation to pay their last respects to Sister Chayamba Jane Mfune, fourth born child of District Apostle Duncan Mfune (ir).

2 Timothy, 4:7-8 was used as text word:

“I have fought the good fight; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day; and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.”

In the funeral service conducted by Apostle Stanley Munsaka, starting at 12:00 hours, the late Jane Mfune was described as a person who had love for God and her parents.

Born on 16 August 1967 in Kitwe, she was baptized in the New Apostolic Church at Lubengele Congregation in Chililabombwe on 24 January 1968 and sealed with the Holy Spirit on 14 August 1969 by Apostle Andrew J. Fernandes.

Jane began her primary education at Chingola Infant school, now known as Nakatindi Primary School before moving to Prince Charles School in Kitwe now known as Matete Primary school, where she completed her primary education.

Upon completing her secondary and tertiary education in 1988, Jane taught at River Rain primary school, before going to Africa Literature Center to pursue a Diploma in Arts.

Her determination to achieve academic success and her passion for art saw her obtain her degree in fine arts from Muthesius University of Applied Arts in Germany in 2008. She later obtained her Master of Arts degree from Norwich University, England in 2009.

Until her passing on, Jane worked at the University of Zambia as part time Lecturer in the School of Education’s Art Department.

She passed away on 25 June, 2015.

District Apostle Mfune also lost his sister-in-law (Martha Mfune) who was buried the same day and side-by-side with Jane. She was the District Apostle’s brother’s wife, as the last picture in the following photo gallery shows.
